Two Days on Mosquito Lagoon Report
Thank you for reading this Two Days on Mosquito Lagoon Report. The weather was yucky two days this week, and the forecast for another day was wrong. It did keep me off the water, however. It all worked out.
Wednesday found me searching Mosquito Lagoon flats for redfish, from my kayak. The forecast said winds 5-10- it was every bit of 10, and perhaps a bit more. There were whitecaps. The fish were scarce, and the wind didn’t help. I only saw a handful of fish, getting shots at three of them. Amazingly, I hooked two, and got one, the other one coming unbuttoned.

A wise fisherman once told me, “One is SO many more than none.” Amen to that.

Friday again found me on Mosquito Lagoon, in my kayak, but this time I was joined by Mr. Keith Browning, who was in his kayak. There was less wind, and there were more fish. Keith got some trout and reds, and I got trout, reds, two pinfish, and a small (but bigger than a hockey puck) jack crevalle, all on fly.

It was all great until I realized I’d left my car keys out in the lagoon someplace. I had to involve Susan for a ride back out there with the spare key and a wonderful drive back home again. I’ll be dealing with new keys next week, I’m sure.
That’s the Two Days on Mosquito Lagoon Report. Thanks for reading!
Every day is a blessing. Don’t waste it- Go fishing! Go paddling! Go walking! Stay active!
