One Day Out
Thank you for reading this One Day Out report. Pretty sad that in two weeks I only got out once, and only for a few hours at that. And apologies are in order for blowing off last week’s report. Again. Hope it’s not a disturbing new trend.
Monday last week the weather looked shaky. It’s been shaky for the last two weeks, with frequent rain and not a little bit of lightning. It’s summer in Florida! Anyway, I just drove up the street with an eight-foot three-weight and some bluegill bugs and went panfishing. Was looking for the sunny slam, but did not get a bluegill. Did get a couple nice redbellies, and some stumpknockers, and a cute little seven-inch bass, and of course missed a bunch of strikes.

The river (the Econ, that is) is running low and clear and is perfect for wading and panfishing. It occurred to me while I was out there that it’s as close to dry-fly fishing as you’re going to get in Florida, although the fish are much less suspicious of everything than trout are. So it’s more productive! Anyway, it was pretty enjoyable, and very low-stress.

There has been lots of doctor trips and workmen coming to the house. Not enjoyable, and not low-stress. Aging, and home ownership. Things that complicate your life! And take time from fishing!
I have been working hard on opening my Etsy store, selling my photography. Later today I am going to create some coupon codes for Friends and Family (that’s YOU, dear reader!). Please visit, and whether or not you purchase anything (and you will get a fat discount) PLEASE click the FOLLOW button, on the right-hand margin, right under the banner. Help a poor boy out! Thank you!
Should you see something you like, here’s a discount code for the Friends and Family deal, which lasts until June 14- https://photographybykumiski.etsy.com?coupon=FRIENDSFAMILY50
I hope to fish more this week coming, but I know there’s another doctor trip and another workman coming- there’s two days shot. Thunderstorms are forecast for three days, so it will take some luck to get out. Plus the sad fact is, I’m sick, and getting old, and it’s just harder to get going. I don’t want to fight the weather any more. Fifteen plus is an undesirable forecast!
That’s the One Day Out report. Thanks for reading!
Every day is a blessing. Don’t waste it- Go fishing! Go paddling! Go walking! Stay active!
