A Mystery Solved Report
Thank you for reading this a Mystery Solved Report. I am writing this from a hospital bed, Room 4209, Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley- where my son Maxx works as a Physician’s Associate in the Emergency Room.
He was working Tuesday. He called me and said they weren’t busy and I should come in for a checkup. I was not crazy about the idea but went anyway. I was poked and prodded, x-rayed and MRId, EKGd and electrocardiagramed. Met with doctors and nurses, occupational and physical therapists, social workers and administrators, and more.
The upshot seems to be that these “dizzy spells” I’ve been having were a series of small strokes. The reason it’s Thursday and I’m still here is that they are try to find the cause and shut them down before a big one comes along and does some serious damage.
That having been said, I certainly hope they let me out of here today. Even though the staff is wonderful, I’m tired of being tethered to a bed!
The hospital released me late yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. I went to Maxx’s house, and spent a few minutes feeling sorry for myself, because I’m no longer capable of living the life I always have. I’m supposed to get therapy, but I don’t see how that’s going to change the fact that my lungs have deteriorated to the point that I now need supplemental oxygen. My uncle Leo has always said gettin’ old ain’t for sissies. I guess I should just suck it up and make the best of things, because no one likes a whiner!
That’s the Mystery Solved Report. I hope things start going better soon! Thanks for reading.
Every day is a blessing. Don’t waste it. Go fishing! Go paddling! Go walking! Stay active!
