Traveling Home Report
Thanks for reading this Traveling Home report. We spent a lot of time in the car this week! We drove from Williamstown to Winthrop, and from Winthrop to Chuluota. Glad to be here, but could have done without all the high-stress driving.
Susan has recovered nicely from her excitement. Should be good as new pretty soon. Thanks to all who emailed your concerns.
Our trip covered 6422 miles. I spent $1018.64 on gasoline. The van got 22.7 mpg.
We went to the Center for Resourceful Living reunion, which was awesome. Got to see folks I hadn’t seen in almost 50 years, some of whom I really liked back then and still like now. Also got to meet a veritable plethora of new folks. Food! Wine! Song! A movie! My only regret is that the event was much too short.
We toyed with the idea of going straight home from Williamstown due to Susan’s fall, but an approaching northeaster nipped that idea. We went instead to Winthrop so Susan could convalesce and we could wait out the storm at Chez Deveau. Turned out to be a good idea- the storm meant business, with high winds and heavy rains. Brian and Maryann made us feel more than welcome, as they always do. Thank you both!
Tuesday we hopped in the van for the first of three straight eight-plus hour driving days, getting home near sunset Thursday evening. I would like to thank Toyota Motor Corp. for making such an awesome vehicle as that Sienna, now at over 170,000 miles and still running beautifully.
Friday and Saturday were spent on clean-up and put-away. I carried fishing tackle on a 6000 mile trip and never touched it- it’s time to break it out as soon as I can, hopefully Monday!
That the Traveling Home report. Thanks for reading!
Every day is a blessing. Don’t waste it- Go fishing! Go paddling! Go walking! Take a vacation! Stay active!
