Two Days for Bass Report
First of all, a blessed Easter to all. Or Passover, as the case may be. Let us all pray for peace, regardless of religious affiliation.
Thank you for reading this Two Days for Bass report. Sadly I did not fish enough this week. But I did get out, and caught a few fishies. I’m also putting fishing tackle on ebay, and have been staying busy getting ready to have a yard sale. Yes, there will be fishing paraphernalia available! I am aiming for April 18th. Come see me!
Here’s some news no one except Montana resident fly-fishers wanted to see-

Tuesday morning found me launching my kayak at Lake Mills. It was a little breezy, coming down the lake. I went into it, all the way to the other end, and rode it back. The bite was slow on the Senko worm and non-existent on the Gurgler mouse. At least all the fish were small! On the way back I tried a Clouser Minnow, and hooked a couple more smallish bass, both of which jumped off. I ended up with ten fish or so.

Wednesday I took the canoe to the Econ. Yes, the water is low. I started at Snow Hill Road. My first fish came about 30 minutes in, a bass that maybe hit 12 inches, on a fly rod bug. A few minutes later a stumpknocker hit the same bug, managed to get the #1 hook in its mouth, and ended up in my boat briefly. I still don’t understand how that big hook can fit in that little mouth.
With the wind pushing me around (even down in all those trees!) it was easier to fish the spin rod. I got another bass about the same size on a Senko worm. The fish really were not aggressive. At least all the ones I got were small! I did get a fat warmouth, also on the Senko, and again ended up with ten fish or so.
I came to a place where a fallen tree was across the river. If the water was a few inches higher, I could have floated over it. As it was, my choice was get out and drag around, or turn around. I opted for the latter, and was home about 2 PM.
I saved errands for Friday, since the weather forecast promised yuck. The yuck never showed. No fishing, on a nice day, too. But the Red Sox won again, finally.
That’s the Two Days for Bass report. Thanks for reading!
Every day is a blessing. Don’t waste it- Go fishing! Go paddling! Go walking! Stay active!
